About the Musical
Sto Dusz: The Legend of Twardowski is an original musical inspired by one of Poland’s most enduring legends: the story of Twardowski, a man who makes a pact with the Devil in exchange for extraordinary power.
But this is not simply a story about a bargain with darkness. At its heart is a question that is much more human: what would you give up to change your life?
The story moves between the ordinary world and the supernatural. Twardowski is drawn into a world of temptation, mystery and impossible choices, where every wish has a consequence and every promise has a price.
The Story
In a world filled with dreams and superstition, Twardowski seeks a way to escape the limits of ordinary life. The Devil offers him exactly what he desires: power, wealth and the ability to shape his own fate.
Yet the deeper Twardowski enters this new world, the more complicated his wishes become. Love enters the story through Zosia, a young village woman whose fate becomes inseparable from his own. What begins as a fantastical adventure gradually becomes a deeply personal struggle between ambition, love, sacrifice and redemption.
As the story unfolds, Twardowski must face the true cost of the pact he once believed he could control. The supernatural world closes in around him, while the people he loves are forced to pay a price for choices they never made.
The musical combines dramatic storytelling with humor, romance and dark fantasy. Its journey ultimately leads not simply toward damnation, but toward a chance to understand what matters when power, magic and promises are stripped away.
